Precipitation of MoS2 nanoparticles carried out in impinging jet reactors

Abstract

Impinging jet reactors were used to produce molybdenum disulphide particles in precipitation process, by means of a wet chemical synthesis technique. In this work influence of mixing process on precipitation of BaSO4 and MoS2, as well as parallel chemical test reactions have been studied. In order to achieve high mixing intensities and low residence times in mixing chamber three different jet reactors were used. The results of experiments can be used to determine simple precipitation kinetics, and therefore further extend application of CFD simulations in design process of chemical reactors and in solving engineering problems.
