Using 3D spatial analysis for smarter city modeling

The article introduces the practical possibilities of using 3D data in the process of planning investment locations. The authors present some examples of 3D spatial analysis for city purposes, some selected tasks in the management of urban space and indicate the need to use 3D data for such applications especially with comparison to 2D classic data. The examples shown were conducted for Warsaw capital city. The issues described in this article are in Poland even more important in the context of the project Poland 3D+, which aims to support the development of innovative applications of the three-dimensional spatial information.
