Elasticity theory of optimal structures with singularities in the material distribution
AbstractThis paper is aimed at examining the space 1,2 W and the set f that represent, respectively, displacement and stress fields producing finite elastic energy in a structure given by a measure that describes material density. This approach allows to define and discuss the properties of optimal structure (including statical determinacy) in a mathematically consistent manner. The new results concerning second order Sobolev spaces 2, 2 W will be also discussed, unlocking analysis of optimal plates, grillages and beams
