Assessment of Availability of Railway Video Surveillance System
Piotr Szmigiel , Zbigniew Kasprzyk
AbstractThe article describes both existing and planned video surveillance systems on railway infrastructure. Problems regarding the creation of a centralized video surveillance system covering the entire country have been identified. An assessment of the emerging system in terms of its availability has been made. The emerging system is one of the most modern systems of this type in Europe, however, due to certain compromises made during the development of the system, it may not provide the availability on the level of other auxiliary systems used in railway transport, in particular due to insufficient availability of server infrastructure.
