Analysis of the cold launch method of a research rocket

In this paper, a vertical soft launch method for a small research rocket has been studied. The physical and mathematical models of the rocket controlled by two sets of lateral thrusters in the launch phase have been described. The thrusters firing logic algorithm based on pure time delays was proposed. Finally, simulation results showed that with the aim of the developed method the rocket attitude could be controlled in an effective way. The satisfactory performance was obtained, and the proposed solution might be implemented in the future on a real flying platform.
