Variability of roughness parameters calculated using data obtained by TLS depending on scan resolution and beam's angle of incidence

Spatial data obtained by Terrestrial Laser Scanning (TLS) can be used in order to create various inventories and analyses of the surveyed surfaces. Zis paper presents a use of orthogonal regression line in order to identify the beam's incidence angle on the surveyed surface as well as identiUcation of roughness parameters using data obtained by terrestrial laser scanning. Accuracy of the visualisation of the surface and roughness parameters, in particular Ra (mean arithmetic deviation of surface roughness proUle forming the average line) are closely correlated to the scan resolution of the evaluated area. Presented analyses indicate a need to identify areas with uniform visualisation [1,2] in the compared scans.
