PRELIMINARY RESEARCH ON ELECTROCHEMICAL BATTERIES IN VARIABLE ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
AbstractThe paper presents the preliminary tests of the Valve Regulated Lead-Acid (VRLA) battery in a specific load cycle at different ambient temperatures. The tests were carried out in the environmental chamber. The paper presents the effect of value changes of the ambient temperature at a constant load current on the value of voltage at the battery terminals, the temperature at the terminals as well as the temperature value on the battery body. Based on the tests that were carried out, it was found that the lower the ambient temperature value, the lower the useful capacity of the VRLA battery.
