New highly selective porphyrin-based nanophotosensitizer investigated using a microfluidic system

Herein we present a simply hybrid PDMS/glass microfluidic device for assessment of cyto- and photocytotoxicity of meso-tetraphenylporphyrin nanocapsules (TPP NCs). Layer by layer approach was used to synthesize the long-sustained release oil-core polyelectrolyte NCs with high encapsulation efficiency (EE > 90%). The proposed microsystem enables simultaneous mono-, coculture and mixed culture of A549 lung cancer and MRC-5 normal lung cells.
