Isogeometric plane stress analysis

Abstract

IN the study the finite element for plane stress state assuming shape functions based on B-splines. Stages of building the element stiffness matrix were shown. Derived formulas were used to write a calculating program. Effectiveness of isogeometric analysis was shown in presented example. Results were compared with the classic FEM phrase. Numerical cost results were received with significantly lower number of finite elements than in isoparametric phrase. Isogeometric Analysis (IGA) is convenient for BIM technology as object approximation is accurate.
