A Study on Using Different Kinds of Continuous-Wave Radars Operating in C-Band for Drone Detection

Abstract

The paper focuses on results of field trials for drone detection using CW (Continuous-Wave) radars operating in the C-band. The experiments have involved two different implementations of FMCW (Frequency-Modulated Continuous- Wave) radar and an implementation of CW noise radar. The theoretical comparison of the FMCW and noise radar, along with the description of their implementations is included. The obtained results are presented and discussed. For the conclusion, the limitations of each implementation are identified and recommendations for its usage in considered application are provided.
