Wpływ drążenia tuneli tarczą zmechanizowaną TBM na osiadania powierzchni terenu i budynki

So far in Poland no traffic infrastructure tunnels were delivered with the tunnel boring machine technology (TBM), therefore relevant impact data on the soil and existing infrastructure are missing. Machines used for underground construction in the previous years were operated manually and they featured a different face supporting system, as well as bore and tunnel shoring system. In case of each of these technologies (slurry shield and EPB shield) the face stability securing method acts as a decisive factor for the impact of tunnelling works on the ground tension and subsiding of land (balancing of external pressure of ground and groundwater). In case of the EBP shield, the stability of the face is secured by the pressure of bored earth, while in case of the slurry shield - by the pressure of the drilling mud.
