Tribological behavior of graphene-coated mechanical elements

An impact of graphene coatings on tribological and wear properties of mechanical elements was evaluated. In the research, the graphene layer was deposited on two different base materials: electro- or cyanide copper. To quantitatively assess wear of the investigated surfaces, their microgeometry was measured both before and after tribological tests. Differences between surface roughness parameters obtained this way are presented in the paper. Also, limitations of the graphene coatings usability, dependent on the applied base material, are outlined.
