Individual assessment of the lightning hazard of building objects as a guarantee of their proper protection

Abstract

The paper is devoted to subtleties in normative provisions that may have a negative impact on the effectiveness of lightning and surge protection of buildings and their equipment. The authors of the paper have tried to show that realigning the lightning threat assessment of objects requires not only estimating the number of dangerous events by the analytical and graphical methods in an individualized manner but also adjusting the level of lightning protection of the facility before determining the value of reduction coefficients of the expected damage to its properties and resigning from the loss relativization.
