Pulse-excited six-port reflectometer

Abstract

A multi-port reflectometer which allows us to determine a complex reflectance in pulse mode of the device under test is proposed. The reflectometer is based on a symmetrical five-port junction, directional coupler and diode detectors. The hardware configuration of the six-port junction and its calibration as well as the linearization of the diode detectors have been investigated. The experimental results for several terminations measured by the proposed reflectometer working under pulse excitation are compared with data measured by a Hewlett-Packard network analyzer at the selected frequencies
