Abstract

Increasing velocity of electric trains together with increasing of current collected from traction catenary require modification of catenary system and pantographs as well. Methods of modification applied so far are presented in the article. The new solution appears to be introducing flexible contact strips. Some results of analysis and research studies of suggested new contact strip construction are presented.
