Radiation-induced changes of optical properties of heat-sensitive papers

Kowalski Adrian , Joanna Izdebska , Halina Podsiadło

Direct thermal printing is one of generally used methods of printing on single, small, personified sheets where special heat-sensitive paper is applied. Spontaneous yellowing, blackening, worsening of legibility or even disappearance of print during storage of prints on such bases is still a heavy problem. This paper presents the results of studies of selected optical properties of heat-sensitive papers before and after artificial ageing with the use of radiation.
