The Influence of Geological and Anthropogenic Factors on the Change of the Water Quality Parameters in the Kamyanka River Within the City of Zhytomyr

Abstract

This article deals with the research which includes a visual assessment of the ecological state of the riparian area of the Kamyanka River within the limits of the city of Zhytomyr; laboratory studies of water samples on basic hydrochemical parameters; identification of the potential sources of river pollution; the calculation of the pollution index of river waters and determination of the class of their quality. It also suggests a number of measures to protect the Kamyanka River from anthropogenic impact.
