AbstractThis article deals with the research which includes a visual assessment of the ecological state of the riparian area of the Kamyanka River within the limits of the city of Zhytomyr; laboratory studies of water samples on basic hydrochemical parameters; identification of the potential sources of river pollution; the calculation of the pollution index of river waters and determination of the class of their quality. It also suggests a number of measures to protect the Kamyanka River from anthropogenic impact.
