The cyclopentadienylaluminium etheralkoxide derivative [(η1-C5H5)2Al(μ-OCH2CH2O-nPr)]2; synthesis and structure

Abstract

The reaction of [Cl2Al(μ-OCH2CH2O-nPr)]2 (1) with NaCp leads to the formation of etheralkoxy bridged dimer [(η1-C5H5)2Al(μ-OCH2CH2O-nPr)]2 (2) containing five-coordinate aluminium atoms. The compound was characterised by 1H-, 13C- and 27Al-NMR spectra and its crystal structure was determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction studies.
