Extended KBE in Mechanical Engineering: Discussion of Concepts

The paper deals with the computer aided process of developing Knowledge Based Engineering (KBE) applications. When creating KBE applications, both the product and its design process are modeled. The main problem of building an advanced, comprehensive model of a design process is the selection of appropriate knowledge representations and implemented tools. In this work the specification of conditions affecting the form and function of so called Extended KBE templates are presented. The case study is presented in the [24].
