Porting Graphical User Interfaces through Ontology Alignment
AbstractThe paper presents a new approach to the problem of porting graphical user interfaces. It retains the semantic value of the user interface instead of focusing on the object geometry of the original UI. This is achieved by aligning representations of user interfaces in different technologies to an abstract semantic web model for graphical user interfaces. The approach is illustrated with an example of porting a simple real user interface to a different toolkit.
