Fiber optic probe for monitoring of drinking water

AbstractA multiparameter fiber optic probe, which consists of pH, temperature and calcium ions sensors, is described. The probe was tested in laboratory conditions with the use of artificial samples. Each of the sensors is based on the absorbance changes of an appropriate reagent. Light emitting diodes (LEDs) are used as light sources and they are matched to maximum absorbance of the reagent.
